How long have you been in public service?
Worked 20 years in a variety of public service positions in Utica including Planning and Zoning, EDA, Public Works, and Public Safety. Have served on the St. Charles City Council since 2002.
Why did you choose to be in public service?
I wanted to serve people for as far back as high school - it is just a part of me. I enjoy the challenges.
What is your favorite thing about your city, county or area?
St. Charles is the gateway to Whitewater State Park and is home to new improvements and industry including a new emergency management building and a new deal with Envirotech.
What is your city or area most known for? What is unique, or special about it?
Whitewater State Park is one of the most popular state parks in Minnesota and is known for great trout fishing in the summer and deer hunting in the fall.
How do people in your community feel a Second Train could benefit them? Or, How do you feel that your community could benefit from a Second Train?
My community is hoping we can motivate people to visit our area the southeast part of the state of Minnesota. It's a beautiful area and another transportation option could bring them to visit the biking trails and one of the nicest parks in the state, Whitewater State Park.
Why are you interested in expanding passenger rail in Minnesota? Or, What is your long-term vision for passenger rail in Minnesota?
To expose the natural resources and attractions of not only our area (Winona, St. Charles) but also the other areas of interest all along the River Route Corridor.
